february 21, 2017

It will be a busy week for Italy in China that 21 to 26 February: Visit of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, fourth edition of the Italy-China Business Forum (will be signed important agreements) and a mission system with a large delegation of enterprises and institutions and the presence, for the Government, the Secretary for Development, Ivan Scalfarotto. To understand the importance of this mission, just remember that the last of this type dates back to 2010. This commitment demonstrates the attention of the Italian Presidency for a country like China, which always counts the most in the economy and in the global balance .

The fourth edition of the Italy-China Business Forum will address the two major plans of action of the Chinese government: Obor (One belt one road) and Made in China 2025, which attract a growing and widespread interest in our businesses. The Italian industry is a partner in development programs in China. The mission also includes the presence of our two most important Institutes, one in Turin and Milan, they already have, for some time, cooperation agreements with the Chinese side.

Not only industry, then, but also innovation, research and internationalization of the Italian education system. Do not forget that one in cultural exchange is an investment that pays, opens the way to commercial partnerships. He tells Prof. Xing, director of our Uni-Italia Centre in China, in an interview with Corriere della Sera. Since 2005, thanks to the signing of the agreement for the mutual recognition of qualifications and following the launch of the programs Marco Polo and Turandot (which provide for the study of Italian first university courses) we went from 766 members in 2008, to 4,401 in 2016, steady growth. Explains Prof. Xing speaking Chinese students who choose our country: "They are the parents of the new middle class who believe in the Italian university system, why they make sacrifices to send their children to you. And then initiatives such as the Politecnico di Milano who teaches courses in English helped a lot. Very popular also the Polytechnic of Turin, Rome Tor Vergata for innovative courses like "Global Governance", Bologna for the historical prestige. "
